Why Meditation?

I have often tried to learn meditation and sat for countless hours (well minutes of hours) trying to reach a state that resembles meditation but to be honest I have yet to succeed. Usually I get disenchanted after a few attempts and forget all about any form of meditation and as a result it leaves me wondering if it is all bogus or am I missing out on a valuable method to help my mind and so by extension my health.

I was therefore really happy to see an app called Headspace recommended by Tim Ferris author of 4 Hour Work Week, on his podcast, that helps him meditate.

Ok so what is Headspace?

Here’s how the makers of this app describe it (capital letters is their idea not mine)
